The Government of Karnataka on January 08, 2025, issued the Karnataka Excise (Brewery) (Amendment) Rules, 2025 to further amend the Karnataka Excise (Brewery) Rules, 1967.
This shall come into force from January 20, 2025.
The following amendments have been stated namely: -
• In rule 2, for clause (f), the following shall be substituted, namely: –
“(f) “Beer” means any liquor prepared from malt or grain with the addition of sugar limited to not more than 25% by weight with or without the addition of sugar and hops, and includes ale, black beer, porter, stout and spruce beer.
Note: -The addition of sugar shall not be more than 25% by weight”.
