The Ministry of Power (MoP) on January 08, 2025, issued the Central Electricity Authority (Manual on Transmission Planning Criteria), 2023 including Amendment –I of 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• To cover the planning procedure, a new chapter (Chapter 7) has been added to the Manual. It outlines the procedure for planning of electric power transmission system.
• It includes guidelines for assessing demand, determining capacity requirements, and ensuring compliance with reliability standards.
• The chapter emphasizes the importance of considering both normal and contingency scenarios to maintain grid security and operational efficiency.
• Further, the parameters of certain conductors have also been updated.
