The Labour Department, Delhi on January 03, 2025, issued a notification regarding the addition of new establishments under the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954.
The following has been stated: -
•The Lt. Governor of Delhi has added new establishments to the Schedule-1 of the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954, subject to conditions such as working hours, overtime pay, shift work regulations, employee safety, and provision of legal benefits.
•Employers must ensure compliance with regulations on wages, leave, and employee welfare, and maintain records as per the Act.
•CCTV installation and compensatory leave for national holidays are mandatory.
