The Ministry of Power (MoP) on January 10, 2025, issued Guidelines for Installation and Operation of Battery Swapping and Charging Stations.
The following has been stated: -
•These guidelines shall apply to swappable battery providers and owners and operators of battery charging stations and battery swapping stations located anywhere.
•The key goals of these guidelines are to encourage the use of battery swapping as an alternative method for powering electric vehicles (EVs), to promote the concept of battery as a service, and to establish a comprehensive battery swapping ecosystem.
