The Ministry of Coal (MoC) on January 07, 2025, issued the guidelines for Fostering Innovation and Research through Startups for Technology in the Coal & Lignite Sector under the Science & Technology (S&T-First) Program.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It aims to bridge the financial gap for technology-driven startups by providing initial funding to help them develop and commercialize innovative ideas, enabling them to attract further investment or secure loans.
• It focuses on advancing innovation and technology translation in coal and energy sectors, targeting production, safety, sustainability, clean technologies, smart mining, renewable energy, rare mineral exploration, and circular economy to drive commercialization and practical deployment.
• The National Centre for Coal & Energy Research (NaCCER) shall be the coordinating agency under the umbrella of CMPDIL/CIL.
• It further provides the Standard Operating Procedure and Terms and Conditions for Funding under S&T-First, annexed as below.
