The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) on January 15, 2025, issued a notification regarding the ban on Synthetic Kite Flying Threads.
The following has been stated: -
•The Punjab Government has issued a ban on the manufacture, sale, storage, and use of kite flying threads made from nylon, plastic, or any synthetic material, including "Chinese Dor/manjha" coated with sharp substances.
•Violators will face penalties under the Environment Protection Act, 1986, with fines or imprisonment. Residents are urged to comply with the ban to support environmental protection efforts.
