The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, (MoHUA) on January 14, 2025, issued a notification regarding the Revision of Standard Specifications of Traction System of Metro Rail.
The Ministry has revised the standard specifications for metro rail components, including the traction system, to align with the Budget 2022-23 announcement of standardizing metro designs for Indian conditions. A draft report titled "Standardization/Indigenization of Traction System of Metro Rail Components" has been prepared and shared for stakeholder feedback. Comments or inputs may be sent by 15 February 2025.
