The Ministry of Communications (MoC) on January 17, 2025, notified regarding the launch of the New Sanchar Saathi Mobile App, National Broadband Mission (NBM) 2.0, and the inauguration of the Intra Circle Roaming facility at DBN Funded 4G Mobile Sites.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Sanchar Saathi Mobile App enhances telecom security by enabling fraud reporting, managing mobile connections, blocking lost devices, and verifying handset authenticity, ensuring secure telecom services for users.
• The National Broadband Mission (NBM) 2.0 aims to provide high-speed broadband connectivity across India, focusing on rural areas, increasing fixed broadband speeds, expanding optical fiber coverage, promoting sustainable energy for towers, and facilitating 5G and 6G networks to create a digitally inclusive and connected nation by 2030.
• The launch of Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) at DBN-funded 4G mobile sites enables subscribers of BSNL, Airtel, and Reliance to access 4G services from a single tower, ensuring better connectivity for over 35,400 rural villages while reducing costs and infrastructure duplication.
