Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAFPD) on January 17, 2025, issued the revised Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) Policy for 2024-25.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The policy is to enhance food security and rice distribution. 

• The reserve price for rice has been set at ₹2,250 per quintal for sale to State Governments, State Corporations, and Community Kitchens without e-auctions. 

• Rice sold to ethanol distilleries for ethanol production will also be priced at ₹2,250 per quintal. 

• These decisions aim to support state schemes and promote national energy goals.
