The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on January 17, 2025, issued a notification to amend notification no. S.O. 2693 (E), dated September 05, 2013, related to channels of Doordarshan including the Gyandarshan Channel to be compulsorily carried by cable operators.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In Table-I, for serial number 16 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“16. DD Assam General Entertainment (Regional)”;
• For serial numbers21, 22, 23 and 24 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“21. DD Odia General Entertainment (Regional);
22. Sansad TV – 1 HD News and Current Affairs (Lok Sabha);
23. Sansad TV – 1 News and Current Affairs (Lok Sabha);
24. Sansad TV – 2 HD News and Current Affairs (Rajya Sabha)”;
• For serial number 28 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial number and entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“28. Sansad TV – 2 News and Current Affairs (Rajya Sabha)”;
• After serial number 39 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely:-
“40. DD National HD General Entertainment (Hindi);
41. DD News HD News and Current Affairs (Hindi);
42. DD Sports HD Sports;
43. DD India HD News and Current Affairs (English)”.
