The following has been stated: -
•India's telecom sector has seen remarkable growth, with 1.19 billion subscribers and 84.46% tele density, supporting sectors like agriculture, business, and healthcare. The rollout of 5G is expected to contribute 2% to India's GDP by 2030, and the focus is already shifting to 6G.
•The National Broadband Mission (NBM) 2.0 aims to bridge the digital divide, ensuring affordable high-speed broadband, especially in rural areas. Key objectives include universal broadband access, leveraging satellite and optical fiber technologies, and fostering innovation.
•The initiative also supports sustainable solutions and green energy adoption. NBM 2.0 is critical for India's digital transformation and economic growth.
