The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D) on January 17, 2025, issued an amendment to the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.
It states that in the First Schedule, under the sub-heading “Degrees”, against serial number 75, relating to Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner after item number (viii) under column (1) and the entries relating thereto, the following item number and entries shall be inserted, namely: -
• University or veterinary institution (1) - “(ix) M.B. Veterinary College, Dungarpur, Rajasthan
• Recognised veterinary qualification (2) - Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry
• Abbreviation for registration (3) - B.V.Sc. & A.H. [This qualification shall be a recognized veterinary qualification only when granted on or after the 10th June 2026.]”
