The Government of Karnataka on January 04, 2025, issued a Karnataka Factories Self Certification Scheme 2024.
The following has been stated-
It aims to streamline enforcement procedures under various labour laws by encouraging voluntary compliance by factory occupiers. This initiative seeks to promote a safe, harmonious, and productive work environment while safeguarding workers' rights and interests under the Factories Act,of 1948, Payment of Wages Act, of 1936, and Maternity Benefit Act, of 1961, along with their respective rules.
The scheme applies to all factories registered under the Factories Act, 1948, except those involving hazardous processes, handling toxic or inflammable substances, or employing over 250 workers. Participation in the scheme is voluntary, and occupiers must submit a self-declaration (Form-1) to the Chief Inspector for certification.
