The Labour Department, Government of Tripura on January 13, 2025, notified regarding the revised minimum wages of the brick kiln workers.
It states that 5% of wages will be increased on the existing rates of wages for the workers of all brick manufacturing industries on the following terms and conditions:
• The revised wages for moulding 1,000 green bricks including artisan work, filling, topmen, and various roles, and specific rates are detailed for each role.
• The revised wages for various labour categories and tasks with updated rates for loading, unloading, daily workers, firemen, mistries, and earth cutting.
• The revised minimum monthly wages for official staff and workers, effective October 1, 2024, with specific hikes for higher-earning staff.
• The wages of the brick kiln workers for the period from October 01, 2024, to December 31, 2024, shall be paid based on previously settled rates.
It further states that the terms and conditions would be effective from January 01, 2025, and shall remain valid up to June 30, 2027.
