The Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department, Gujarat on January 02, 2025, notified regarding using Aadhaar Authentication Service for Good Governance.
The Department is administering the Gujarat Skill Development Mission Portal (https://skills.gujarat.gov.in/) to prevent duplicate registration of trainees and to take real-time attendance of trainees under different skilling schemes, which is being implemented through the Gujarat Skill Development Mission (GSDM).
Under the GSDM Portal, implementing diverse skill training schemes from both State and Central Government skill training schemes through the GSDM Portal aims to streamline and integrate the State's overall skill development framework for the youth of the Nation who are seeking to acquire new skills or upgrade their existing ones, whether to gain employment or to enhance their career prospects and securing sustainable livelihoods.
The Government of Gujarat hereby notifies the following as per the authorisation given by the Central Government on receipt of the proposal:
• Gujarat Skill Development Mission (GSDM) is entrusted with implementing. a range of Central and State Government-sponsored schemes designed to improve the employability of Gujarat's youth. These schemes are facilitated through a dedicated digital portal developed by GSDM, where all trainees are required to register to participate.
• Mandatory Aadhaar Authentication is enforced during trainee registration to prevent duplicate enrolments and ensure the efficient allocation of Government resources. This process guarantees that skill training benefits reach only the eligible and deserving youth, aligning with the scheme's core objective of providing training and employment opportunities to the youth of Gujarat.
• Aadhaar-Enabled Biometric Systems (AEB) will be employed to track trainee attendance throughout the training period. This system ensures accurate, real-time attendance records for each session. Regular attendance not only supports skill enhancement but also improves trainee performance in assessments and prepares them for future employment prospects.
• Biometric Attendance (In and Out) will be captured daily during the training using Aadhaar authentication. This system will record both check-in and check-out times, ensuring comprehensive monitoring of trainee participation and adherence to the training schedule.
• In cases where Aadhaar authentication is not viable, we will implement an alternative mechanism for candidate identification verification.
