The Industries & Commerce Department (Mines-III), Andhra Pradesh on January 21, 2025, issued amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1966.
The following has been stated: -
•For rule 10 (3) the following shall be substituted namely:-
(3)When the quarry lease is granted
a)The dead rent for the 1st year shall be paid by the lessee at the time of execution of the lease deed and for the subsequent years, every year in advance.
b)The seignior age fee and other applicable taxes/ levies shall be paid before the mineral is dispatched from the leased area.
•In rule 10, after sub-rule (7), the following sub-rule shall be added;
(8) Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, Seignior age Fee, Consideration Amount, DMF, and MERIT shall not apply to the minor minerals (Ordinary Earth/ Road Metal/ Gravel) obtained within the cutting sections of the NHAI project, provided that the materials are used in the same project by the Contractor.
•In rule 10 (G) (2), after sub-clause (vi) the following sub-clause shall be added;
(vii) Collect Seignior age Fee, Consideration Amount, DMF, and MERIT for the dispatches to State Government Works/ National Highway Works with the exemption of advance payment and free dispatch permits issued by DMGO/ Div. MGO concerned.
