The Government of Meghalaya on January 03, 2025, issued the DRAFT Meghalaya Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2024 which are framed under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020.
They shall apply to all Factories/Establishments/Buildings or other construction work relating to any establishment in relation to which the appropriate Government is the State Government under the Code.
The following chapters are as stated:
• Chapter- II - Registration of Establishment
• Chapter-III Duties of Employer and Employee, etc.
• Chapter-IV Occupational Safety and Health
• Chapter-V Hours of Work and Annual Leave with Wages
• Chapter-VI Maintenance of Registers, Records and Returns
• Chapter-VII Inspector-Cum-Facilitator and Other Authority
• Chapter-VIII Special Provisions
• Chapter IX Offences and Penalties
• Chapter- X Social Security Fund
• Chapter-XI Miscellaneous
All persons likely to be affected thereby and the notice is hereby given that the said Draft Notification will be taken into consideration after the expiry of 45 days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this Notification are made available to the public. Objections and suggestions if any, may be addressed to the Deputy Secretary, to the Government of Meghalaya, Department of Labour, Employment & Skill Development, Secretariat Hills, Shillong or by email ([email protected]).
Objections and suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said Draft Notification before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government of Meghalaya.
