The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on January 22, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Advisory for Secure IT environment to safeguard from Cyber Attacks.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Members are suggested to remain vigilant and take adequate measures to safeguard the organization’s critical / production assets from the Cyberattack.
• The following are some of the Indicative IT hygiene measures and members are advised to follow the same: -
o Use Strong Passwords: Create complex, unique passwords for each account and enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever possible.
o Keep Software Updated: Regularly update operating systems, applications, and security software to patch vulnerabilities.
o Implement Firewalls: Use firewalls to monitor and control incoming and outgoing network traffic to prevent unauthorized access.
o Back Up Data: Regularly back up important data to prevent loss from cyberattacks like ransomware.
o Use Antivirus and Anti-malware: Install reputable antivirus and anti-malware software to detect and block malicious activities and keep the same updated.
o Be cautious of Phishing: Avoid clicking on suspicious links or attachments in emails, as these are common phishing techniques.
o Secure Wi-Fi Networks: Set up strong passwords for Wi-Fi routers and use encryption (WPA3) to prevent unauthorized access
