The Fisheries and ARD Department, Odisha on January 15, 2025, issued the notification regarding the use of Aadhaar Authentication services on a voluntary basis.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Matsya Odisha, https://matsya.odisha.gov.in has been administered for the following reasons: -
o Usage of digital platforms to ensure good governance
o Prevention of dissipation of social welfare benefits
o Enablement of innovation and the spread of knowledge which is being implemented through the Directorate of Fisheries, Odisha.
• Aadhaar Authentication services shall be used on a voluntary basis for the following namely: -
o Enrolment of eligible fishers/fish farmers/fish workers/fish entrepreneurs entitled for various scheme benefit and administration of subsidy through DBT as well as Non DBT process through "Matsya Odisha" portal.
o Disbursement of the benefits and subsidies of various social welfare schemes directly by IFMS application to the beneficiaries' Aadhaar enabled Bank Accounts.
This shall come into force on January 15, 2025.
