The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) on January 01, 2025, issued the Draft Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (Ancillary Services) Regulations, 2024.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The regulation aims to enhance grid reliability, ensure fairness, foster innovation, and promote a competitive ancillary services market for all stakeholders.
• It shall apply to all electricity stakeholders, ensuring a resilient, secure, and economically viable grid aligned with national energy policies and sustainability goals.
• Chapter 5 outlines the Framework and Operational Guidelines for Ancillary Services.
• The Objections or suggestions to these draft regulations may be sent by January 31, 2025, to the Secretary, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission, No 16, C-1, Miller Tank Bed Area, Vasanthanagar, Bengaluru-560052.
