The National Commodity Clearing Limited (NCCL) on January 24, 2025, issued a circular regarding the scheme of deposit for acceptance of Government Securities, Treasury Bills, and Sovereign Gold Bonds as Collateral.
The following has been stated: -
•The Clearing Corporation has revised the list of Government Securities, Treasury Bills, and Sovereign Gold Bonds accepted as collateral for Additional Base Capital (ABC), with applicable haircuts.
•These securities will be subject to periodic revisions in the approved list and haircuts. Valuation of these securities will be done daily, using prices from the Clearing Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIL) and NSE, with haircuts applied to determine collateral value.
•Securities will be accepted from the date of listing on the NSE, and benefits will be withdrawn two days before maturity.
•The revised scheme takes effect from February 01, 2025.
