The Government of Madhya Pradesh on January 16, 2025, issued the Madhya Pradesh Municipalities (Second Amendment) Act, 2024 to further amend the Madhya Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1961.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In Section 43-A of the Municipalities Act, 1961, in sub-section (1),-
o in the opening paragraph, for the words "two thirds" the words "three fourths" shall be substituted;
o in clause (i) of the proviso, for the words "two years", the words "three years" shall be substituted;
(1) The Madhya Pradesh Municipalities (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2024 (No. 4 of 2024) is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding the repeal of the said Ordinance, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provision of this Act.
