Industry Specific ComplianceThe Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) on January 24, 2025, issued the guidelines regarding the implementation of the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) in all PCI-approved pharmacy institutions.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It has implemented the Aadhaar-enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) in pharmacy institutions starting from the 2025–2026 academic session. 

• Institutions shall procure STQC-certified devices within 30 days, ensure internet connectivity for seamless attendance, and maintain proper functioning. 

• Wall-mounted fingerprint or iris/face recognition devices are preferred, with strict action for non-compliance or data gaps exceeding three days.
