The Government of Madhya Pradesh on January 17, 2025, issued the Madhya Pradesh Khule Nalkup Mein Insanno ke Girne Se Hone Wali Durghatnao Ki Rokthaam Evam Suraksha Niyam, 2024.
This shall come into force on January 17, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It aims to regulate the protection from accidents of persons falling into open borewells and tubewells.
• Rule 3 outlines the responsibility of the drilling agency.
• Rule 4 outlines the responsibility of the landowner.
• Rule 5 outlines the procedure for reporting a complaint.
• Rule 6 states that any person aggrieved by orders issued under it to file an appeal within 30 days to the authority specified in the Schedule, subordinate to the authority that issued the original order.
