Industry Specific ComplianceThe Indian Nursing Council (INC) on January 17, 2025, issued the Indian Nursing Council {Nurse Practitioner in Nephrology Nursing (NPNepN) - Postgraduate Residency Program} Regulations, 2024.

The following has been stated:- 

•The Nurse Practitioner in Nephrology Nursing (NPNepN) program is a two-year postgraduate residency program designed to prepare B.Sc. nurses for advanced roles in nephrology care. It emphasizes competency-based education focusing on clinical practice, including assessment, dialysis management, and patient education. 

•Graduates will provide specialized care in kidney disease management, collaborating with healthcare teams in tertiary care settings. The program aims to address the need for skilled nephrology nurses in India, as outlined in the National Health Policy, 2017. 

•Upon completion, NPNepN will be registered with the State Nursing Registration Council and equipped to take on leadership roles in nephrology care.

These shall come into force on January 27, 2025.
