The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoC&I) on January 27, 2025, issued a notification regarding the launch of an enhanced Certificate of Origin (eCoO) 2.0 System.
The following has been stated: -
•The DGFT has launched the enhanced eCoO 2.0 system to simplify and streamline the Certificate of Origin process for exporters, with features like multi-user access and Aadhaar-based e-signing.
•The system, mandatory for Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin since January 01, 2025, processes over 7,000 certificates daily. It also introduces Back-to-Back Certificates of Origin for goods not of Indian origin, aiding re-export, trans-shipment, and merchanting trade.
•This initiative aims to improve trade efficiency and support global supply chains.
