The Labour Department, Govt. of Meghalaya on January 14, 2025, notified regarding the revision of the floor rates of minimum wages of certain scheduled employments.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has revised the minimum wages of scheduled employment such as Agriculture, Construction, Stone crushing, Sericulture & Weaving, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Local Authority, Public Motor Transport, Saw Mill, Plywood Industry, Motor Workshops, Bakery, Shops, and Establishments, Printing Press, Sales, Distribution and Handling of petroleum products, Hotels, and Restaurants, Mines and Minerals, Safai Karamcharis, etc.
• The revised minimum wage per day is: Rs. 525.00 for Unskilled, Rs. 565.00 for Semi-skilled, Rs. 605.00 for Skilled, and Rs. 645.00 for highly skilled.
• The rates of minimum wages shall be effective from January 01, 2025.
