Secretarial ComplianceThe National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on January 24, 2025, issued Guidelines for Change of Signature for Depository Accounts opened in the name of Individuals.

Participants are informed of the updated procedure for changing signatures in individual depository accounts, as outlined in Para 2.2.1 of the NSDL Master Circular. Clients must submit a written request specifying the reason for the change and visit the Participant's office with valid Proof of Identity (POI) to affix their new signature in the presence of officials. If a personal visit is not feasible, the new signature must be attested by the client’s banker. An authorized official will verify the client’s identity and documentation before updating records. Once the change is processed, the Participant must notify the client about the update through a letter, email, or another suitable communication method.
