Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Finance (MoF) on January 28, 2025, issued a Declaration of Protected Systems for the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems) under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The following has been stated: -

•The Central Government has declared certain computer resources of the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems) under the Ministry of Finance as protected systems under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

• These include various portals, applications, and databases related to tax deduction, e-filing, and business applications. Authorized personnel with role-based access include designated employees, third-party vendors, and consultants as authorized by the Directorate. Access is granted on a need-based or case-by-case basis.

This notification shall come into force on January 28, 2025.
