The Ministry of Mines on January 29, 2025, issued a notification regarding approval of the National Critical Mineral Mission.
The following has been stated: -
•The Union Cabinet has approved the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) with a budget of Rs. 34,300 crore over seven years to strengthen India's value chain for critical minerals vital to green technologies.
•The mission will focus on exploration, mining, processing, and recycling of these minerals, aiming for self-reliance and trade with resource-rich nations.
•It will also promote research, innovation, and the development of processing parks while facilitating faster regulatory approvals.
