The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on January 28, 2025, issued the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Second Amendment) Order, 2025, to further amend the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003.
The following has been amended namely: -
• In Schedule VI.- Against S.No. 293, in column (2) relating to entries ‘(ii) Prunus domestica (Plum)’, the existing entries in column (3) will be numbered as (i) and the following entries will be inserted namely:-
“(ii) Dried fruits for consumption - Drying the fruits at 780C for 24 hours up to moisture level 21% followed by rehydrating them in hot water at 800C to attain moisture level of 35%. Further, pasteurization has been done in the oven at 750C for 45 minutes in the heart of the product. The treatment should be endorsed on Phytosanitary certificate issued at the country of origin/re-export.”
This shall come into force on January 28, 2025.
