Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Power (MoP) on January 30, 2025, issued Guidelines for Benchmarking of Operation & Maintenance Norms for Distribution Utilities.

It is stated that the Central Electricity Authority has prepared the "Guidelines for Benchmarking of Operation & Maintenance Norms for Distribution Utilities" after extensive deliberations with various stakeholders including distribution utilities. 

The following chapters have been stated:

• Benchmarking process & maintenance practices

• O&M benchmarking of major equipment in 33/11 KV sub-station

• O&M benchmarking of distribution transformers

• O&M benchmarking of overhead lines & cables

• Asset management & inventory management

• Safety management

• Role and responsibilities of field O&M staff

• Guiding principles for operations & maintenance (O&M) expenses of distribution licensees.
