The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITy) on January 31, 2025, notified Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Amendment Rules, 2025 further to amend the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020.
The following has been stated: -
•In rule 3 in sub-rule (1), the words “in the interest of good governance, preventing leakage of public funds, promoting ease of living of residents and enabling better access to services for them,” shall be omitted and after clause (a), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:— (aa) promoting ease of living of residents and enabling better access to services for them.
•Rule 5 shall be substituted, namely:-

They shall come into force on January 31, 2025.
