Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Shipping, (DGS), on January 22, 2025, issued a proposal for initiatives towards seafarers financial and mental well-being by collection of requisite data.

In alignment with the MIV 2030 vision, which aims to increase the representation of Indian seafarers globally from 12% to 20%, the Directorate is focusing on enhancing the financial and mental well-being of seafarers.

To address health-related challenges and insurance gaps, the Directorate is collecting details from Indian seafarers and their families. This will aid in designing tailored insurance covers and benefits. Seafarers are encouraged to voluntarily submit their details, along with their dependent family information, through a Google form.

The submitted data will be handled with strict confidentiality, respecting privacy rights while aiming to provide customized solutions.
