The Department of Transport, Govt. of Goa on January 24, 2025, issued the Draft Goa Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2025, to further amend the Goa Motor Vehicles Rules, 1991.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that in rule 140, after sub-rule (1), a new proviso shall be inserted, namely: — “Provided that, if the Motor cab is operating under an App-based Aggregator, the App may be considered as Fare Meter for the purpose of this rule, and the need for the printer shall not be mandatory in case the App has functionality to provide SMS/Email based invoices”.
• All objections or suggestions to the said draft Rules may be forwarded to the Director of Transport to the Government of Goa, Junta House, Panaji, before February 14, 2025.
