The Nagar Panchayat Rewalsar, Government of Himachal Pradesh on February 03, 2025, issued the Door-to-Door Garbage Collection and Disposal bye - laws 2018 of Nagar Panchayat Rewalsar.
The following has been stated namely: -
• These bye – laws shall come into force from the date of their adoption by the Nagar Panchayat.
• It aims to reduce the amount of waste being disposed of while maximizing resource recovery and efficiency. It further states that reducing the handling, treatment, and disposal costs especially reduces various environmental impacts such as leachate, air emissions, and generation of greenhouse gases.
• It states that every waste generator shall segregate waste into biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and hazardous categories and hand it over to authorized collectors, paying a monthly fee for door-to-door collection services.
