The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on February 03, 2025, notified regarding the Contract Maintenance of NHs.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that contractors often neglect defect rectification and maintenance near the end of the DLP/Concession period. To ensure compliance, thorough inspections, defect reports, and rectification enforcement shall be conducted six months before expiry, with Taking Over Certificates mandated before issuing new work orders.
• It further states that the Inspection Report with Defect Notice shall be provided along with the PBMC/STMC proposal in stretches where the concession period expires. Also, LOA for the work shall only be issued after issue of the Taking Over Certificate as per Schedule Q in case of HAM projects.
