EHS ComplianceThe Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) on February 07, 2025, issued a circular regarding SOP for issuance of certificate/ NOC for shipbreaking activity.

The following has been stated: -

•The SOP outlines the process for issuing certificates and NOCs for shipbreaking activities. For anchoring, no application or NOC is required. For beaching, the ship owner must apply for permission, followed by an inspection of hazardous waste before granting the NOC. After ship breaking, the ship owner must submit a disposal report to receive a completion certificate. 

•The SOP ensures compliance with environmental and regulatory standards throughout the process.
