The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on February 10, 2025, issued a notification regarding premature redemption under the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Scheme - Redemption Price for premature redemption due on February 11, 2025 (Series IX of SGB 2019-20).
The following has been stated: -
•Premature redemption of the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2019-20 Series IX is allowed from February 11, 2025, after five years from issuance. The redemption price will be based on the simple average closing gold price for the previous three business days.
•For February 11, 2025, the redemption price is ₹8,499 per unit of SGB.
•The closing prices for February 06, 07, and 10, 2025, will determine this rate.
