The Department of Commercial Taxes, Govt. of Karnataka on February 04, 2025, notified regarding receiving professional tax applications online and processing them in online software without getting physical applications.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It mandates that all Profession Tax (PT) applications, including registration, enrolment, amendments, return filing, and payments, shall be processed exclusively through the online portal e-Prerana, eliminating physical applications.
• It states that this initiative, aligned with the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) reforms, ensures immediate registration upon successful submission, with certificates available for download without the need for a seal or signature.
• It further states that the amendments and payments shall also be handled online, and a real-time dashboard be maintained as per DPIIT guidelines.
