Labour ComplianceThe Government of Kerala on February 11, 2025, notified regarding the Reorganization of working hours due to the summer heat.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that as daytime temperatures in the state continue to rise, the working hours of workers working in the sun have been rescheduled until May 10.  

• The working hours have been fixed at eight hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. All workers working during the day will have a rest period from 12 noon to 3 pm. For workers working on a shift basis, the shifts have been rearranged so that they end at 12:00 pm and begin at 3:00 pm. 

• Areas with a height of more than 3000 feet above sea level and which are not prone to sun damage have been excluded from the scope of this order.
