The Ministry of Communications, (MoC) on February 13, 2025, issued a notification regarding the National Broadband Mission 2.0.
The Government is enhancing rural broadband through key initiatives: Gati Shakti Sanchar Portal for faster Right of Way approvals, Telecommunications Act 2023 for uniform RoW charges, and NBM 2.0 launching in April 2025 to expand satellite broadband and Optical Ground Wire usage. Bharat Net has connected 2.14 lakh Gram Panchayats, with submarine cables boosting 4G/5G rollout. PM Gati Shakti aids efficient telecom infrastructure planning.
