The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) on February 12, 2024, issued an advisory for the GST Registration Process as per Rule 8 of CGST Rules, 2017.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that applicants not opting for Aadhaar authentication shall visit a designated GST Suvidha Kendra for photo capture, document verification, and appointment scheduling via email.
• It states that the Applicants opting for Aadhaar authentication shall visit a GSK for biometric authentication, photo capture, and document verification, with exemptions for those previously verified.
• It further advises that failure to complete biometric authentication, photo capture, or document verification within 15 days will prevent ARN generation for both Aadhaar and non-Aadhaar applicants.
