The Ministry of Power on February 11, 2025, issued the Draft Guidelines for designating a company as Renewable Energy lmplementing Agency (REIA).
The following has been stated namely:-
• The guidelines shall apply to new REIA designations, while SECI, NTPC, NHPC, and SJVN will continue as REIAs under previous orders.
• It mandates Category-I electricity trading license, ₹500+ crore net worth, A+ credit rating, and board approval for REIA designation.
• It states that a company designated as REIA for 5 years shall have its designation terminated early by the central government if it fails to perform duties according to relevant rules, orders, or guidelines.
• The comments to these guidelines may be sent to email-ID: [email protected] and on or before February 26, 2025.
