Labour ComplianceThe Labour Department, Govt. of Meghalaya on February 05, 2025, notified regarding the mandatory submission of online Applications for Business and Labour Compliance Services through the Invest Meghalaya Portal.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that Meghalaya's Labour Department has launched an Online Single Window System for registrations, licenses, and annual returns under various labor laws, ensuring transparency and ease of compliance.

• It mandates online submission, tracking, and approval of business and labor compliance applications through the Invest Meghalaya Portal, eliminating physical submissions and ensuring transparency with real-time dashboards.

• It further states that all applications for labor-related registrations, licenses, and renewals in Meghalaya under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996, Inter-State Migrant Workmen (RE&CS) Act,1979, Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961, Meghalaya Shops & Establishments Act, 2003, and Meghalaya Identification, Registration (Safety & Security) of Migrant Workers Act, 2020, shall be submitted online, with no offline submissions accepted.
