The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on February 13, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Guidelines for availing Import Authorisation for Import of Premium Frozen Duck Meat into India under ITC HS Code 0207 4200 & 0207 4500
The following has been stated namely: -
• Import of Premium Frozen Duck Meat into India under ITC HS Code 0207 4200 & 0207 4500 shall be 'restricted' for supplies to be made to 3-Star and above Operational Hotels.
• Other imports under given ITC(HS) code shall be 'Free'.
• The direct Imports by Hotels rated 3-Star and above are permitted to directly import Premium Frozen Duck Meat without obtaining an Import Authorization.
• The following guidelines have been set namely: -
o Import Authorization Requirement: Such importers may obtain an Import Authorization issued by DGFT.
o Undertaking: Such importers must submit an undertaking that the Imported product is destined for 3-Star and above hotels and will provide potential eligible establishments.
o Maintenance of records for Supplies made: The importer acting as distributor/aggregator/supplier shall maintain records of all such supplies made to a 3-star and above hotels.
