The Department of Road Transport, Lakshadweep Administration on February 13, 2025, issued the draft Lakshadweep Electric Vehicle Policy, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It shall remain valid for three years.
• It aims to transform the union territory of Lakshadweep into a carbon-neutral territory in the transportation sector by achieving 100 % EV registrations for new vehicles from April 01, 2025.
• It states that it shall be mandatory to retrofit all the existing ICE 3-wheelers (Passenger and Cargo) operating in Lakshadweep, to Electric vehicles by October 01, 2025.
• The comments may be sent to email-ID: [email protected] and on or before March 14, 2025.
