The Government of Tamil Naidu on February 12, 2025, issued a notification regarding the Implementation of Price Support Scheme (PSS) for Copra Procurement in Tamil Nadu – 2025.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the implementation of the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for Copra procurement in 2025 through the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED). This initiative aims to stabilize market prices, protect farmers from losses due to price fluctuations, and encourage increased Coconut production and productivity.
The Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Copra is set annually based on recommendations from the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP). Under this scheme, the Government ensures fair remuneration to farmers while maintaining affordable supply for consumers. As part of the proposal, the Crop calendar and harvesting period for Coconut in Tamil Nadu have been notified.
