The Tripura Urban Development Department on January 15, 2025, issued the Affordable Housing Policy, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The policy aims to address housing shortages, promote large-scale affordable housing, improve affordability, foster PPP, develop rental housing, and prevent slum formation.
• It states that affordable housing projects under this policy shall be allowed only in Tripura's municipal and planning areas, with Affordable Housing units to be built in designated residential zones as per the Master Plan.
• It further provides that the Developers under this policy shall comply with Tripura Building Rules, 2017, receive additional non-transferable FAR for EWS unit construction, can develop and retain revenue from 10% commercial space, avail central tax benefits, and pay only 50% of the prescribed approval fees.
