The Government of Madhya Pradesh on February 14, 2025, issued the Madhya Pradesh Excise Policy Year 2025-26.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Liquor shops operating in 13 urban and 06 rural bodies of the state will be closed from April 01, 2025. The list is stated within the Policy.
• The operation of any type of bar and wine outlet will also not be allowed.
• The liquor shops to be closed in these civic areas will not be displaced elsewhere.
• The districts affected will be given the newly calculated reserve price.
• Process of liquor shop execution: -
o For the year 2025-26, the liquor groups of the state will be executed for the entire period of the year i.e. from April 01, 2025 to March 31, 2026.
o In the year 2025-26, all the composite liquor shops in all the districts of the state will first be executed in the groups prevalent in the last year 2024-25.
